If you can't log in to WordPress and the "Lost your password?" email isn't arriving, you can reset the password from cPanel.
Option 1: Use "Lost Your Password?"
- Go to
https://yourdomain.com.au/wp-login.php - Click Lost your password?
- Enter your username or email address
- Check your email (and the spam folder) for the reset link
Option 2: Reset It With Softaculous
- Log in to cPanel (see How to Log In to cPanel)
- Open Softaculous Apps Installer
- Click Installations (the box icon at the top)
- Click the pencil icon next to your WordPress site
- Under Admin Account, choose your admin user and enter a new password
- Click Save Installation Details
Option 3: Reset It in phpMyAdmin
Use this if WordPress wasn't installed with Softaculous.
- In cPanel, open phpMyAdmin (see How to Use phpMyAdmin)
- Click your WordPress database on the left. If you have several, the right one is listed in wp-config.php
- Click the wp_users table (the start of the name may be different)
- Click Edit next to your user
- In the user_pass row, choose MD5 in the Function column and type your new password in the Value column
- Click Go
You can now log in with the new password. WordPress will upgrade the password to stronger encryption automatically.
