Downloading a full backup gives you your own copy of your whole hosting account: files, databases, email and settings. It's a good idea before cancelling, or before big changes.
Downloading With JetBackup
- Log in to cPanel (see How to Log In to cPanel)
- In the JetBackup section, click Full Account Backups
- Choose the backup you want
- Click Download
- When the download is ready, a link appears under Downloads. Click it to save the file to your computer
Large accounts can take a while to prepare. You'll get an email when it's ready.
What You Get
A compressed .tar.gz file containing your whole account. If you move to another cPanel host, they can usually restore it directly.
The backup includes your email passwords and database details, so keep the file somewhere safe.
