How to Stop Other Sites Using Your Images Print

Hotlinking is when another website shows your images by linking straight to your server. It uses your bandwidth without sending you any visitors. Hotlink Protection stops it.

Turning On Hotlink Protection

Log in to cPanel (see How to Log In to cPanel)
In the Security section, click Hotlink Protection
Click Enable
Check URLs to allow access includes all your own domains, with and without www
Leave the file types as they are (jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp), or add others like webp
Click Submit

Be Careful

Add any other sites you want to allow, such as your online shop or newsletter service, to the allowed list, or your images may break there
If your images disappear from your own site, check both the www and non-www versions of your domain are on the allowed list
