Track Delivery in cPanel shows what happened to email sent from or to your domain. It's the quickest way to find out why a message didn't arrive.
Using Track Delivery
- Log in to cPanel (see How to Log In to cPanel)
- In the Email section, click Track Delivery
- Enter an email address in Recipient Email (optional) and click Run Report
- Look through the list for the message. You can filter by sender, recipient or result
What the Results Mean
- Green tick (Success): the email was delivered to the other mail server
- Amber (In Progress or Deferred): the receiving server asked us to try again later. We'll keep trying automatically
- Red (Failure): the email couldn't be delivered. Click the i icon to see the reason
Common Reasons for Failed Email
- User unknown or mailbox not found: the address is wrong or no longer exists
- Mailbox full: the recipient needs to free up space
- Rejected as spam: the receiving server thinks the email looks like spam. Check SPF, DKIM and DMARC are set up
- Blocked by the recipient's server: the other side's settings are blocking you
If you can't work it out, open a support ticket with the sender, recipient and roughly when it was sent, and we'll look into it.
