Moving Your Website to AISweb Print

Moving to AISweb from another host? Here's how to do it without your website or email going offline.

Option 1: Let Us Move It for You

If your old host also uses cPanel, we can usually move everything for you: website, databases and email.

  1. Open a ticket with Technical Support
  2. Tell us your old host's cPanel address, username and password, or attach a full cPanel backup
  3. We'll copy everything across and let you know when it's ready to test
Once the move is done, change the password on your old hosting account.

Option 2: Move It Yourself

Step 1: Copy Your Website

  • WordPress: a migration plugin such as All-in-One WP Migration or Duplicator is the easiest way. Export from the old site, then install WordPress at AISweb and import
  • Other websites: download your files from the old host, then upload them to AISweb. Export any database with phpMyAdmin at the old host and import it here

Step 2: Recreate Your Email Accounts

Create each email account in cPanel with the same addresses. Your old emails stay on your old host for now.

Step 3: Test Before You Switch

Ask us for a temporary preview link, so you can check your site works at AISweb before switching your domain.

Step 4: Switch Your Domain

Change your nameservers to AISweb. Visitors will move over to the new site within a few hours.

Step 5: Bring Your Old Emails Across

If your email apps use IMAP, add the new AISweb account alongside the old one and drag the folders across. Or contact us and we can copy old mailboxes over for you.

Step 6: Cancel Your Old Hosting

Wait about a week, check everything is working, then cancel with your old host.
